Looking to think positively and live your best year yet? Come to the library for a talk with author Janice Kaplan. Her new book “The Gratitude Diaries” is a story about how her life took a turn towards happiness.


Music in the Plaza: Beatles Tribute

When: March 11

Time: 7-9PM

Where: Town Center Plaza


Let’s all “Come Together” for an evening of Beatles music. Bring a picnic dinner and snack on free popcorn as the sun goes down over Coppell.


Texas Fly Fishing and Brew Festival

When: March 11-12

Time: 9AM-6PM

Where: Plano Centre

Cost: $20 general admission, $35 weekend pass


Whether you’re an experienced fisher or this is your first time casting a lure, come enjoy this fly fishing event in Plano. Learn how to fish from a kayak, use different rods, and gain techniques from professional guides and expert casters. Demos and lectures are open to all attendees. And don’t forget about the brews—sample some of the best in the state.



Shake your Shamrock

When: March 17

Time: 4-8PM

Where: Crosby Recreation Center, Carrollton 


In the spirit of St. Patty’s Day, the rec center is opening its doors for a fun, free afternoon. Dress in green to compete in the costume contest—categories include most green, most creative, and most entertaining. Enjoy free food, fitness demos, giveaways, and more. Bring your little ones for face painting and a jump in the bounce house.


Kiss Me I’m Irish

When: March 17

Where: Grapevine Vintage Railroad

Cost: $39 per person


The railroad has a special Irish ride planned for the 21 and older crowd. Sip on two craft brews and indulge in Irish inspired hor d’oeuvres. Take home a souvenir mug to remember this year’s St. Patty’s Day.
