Youth Fly Fishing Class

Where: Biodiversity Education Center Park
Learn to drop a line with the Dallas Fly Fishers. This free event is for kids 11 years or older—adults are asked to tag along. This free outdoor tutorial will teach the art of casting, tying basic fishing knots, and how to use all the required equipment. A quick rundown of aquatic ecosystems, regulations, and safety will leave teens well prepared and ready to wade into the water. Early registration is encouraged, and instructors recommend coming with a hat, sunglasses, and a hearty sack lunch.
Valentine’s Cruise 2017

Where: Lake Grapevine
Cost: $149 per couple
Swap out the restaurant for a Valentine’s Day dinner cruise. Sail across Lake Grapevine for two hours with your significant other. You’ll enjoy a gourmet three-course meal while being entertained by live music and local comedians.
The Love Songs, Valentine tribute to Sinatra

Come hear the legendary voice of Sinatra through tribute artist Dave Halston. With the stamp of approval from Mrs. Sinatra herself, you’re bound to be impressed by renditions of Frank’s most famous love songs. Enjoy a night at the theater with this legendary crooner and his suave stage presence.
Sweetheart Wine Trail
When: February 11-12
Where: Downtown Grapevine
For the past eight years, lovers have celebrated Valentine’s Day in Grapevine with a wine tour. Pick a day and check-in at any one of the seven wineries. There you will receive your souvenir wine glass. A ticket covers three wine tastings at each winery on the trail. Don’t worry, food is provided at each stop.
Be Mine, Valentine Dance

Loving you, Elvis Valentine’s Day dinner with Kraig Parker

Where: Palace Arts Center, Grapevine
The King is in town and he wants to serenade you with a love song. If you’ve got a hunk of burning love for your sweetheart, then a night with Kraig Parker is the perfect Valentine’s Day treat. Tickets include: dinner, the show, and a rose for every lady. Kick the night off with a glass of wine, or two, from the Messina Hof Winery just across the street from the venue. This pre-party with Kraig Parker is only an extra $10 per person.
Run for Rover
When: February 18
Where: McInnish Dog Park, Carrollton
Cost: Human-$15, Dog-$5
Man’s best friend is invited to this 5K race through Carrollton. All proceeds of the run will be donated to the local animal services and adoption center. Don’t have a furry friend? Now is the perfect time to adopt. A shorter run will be available for smaller or older dogs that can’t quite make the hike.
Wild Sundays: Native Texas Critters

Where: Biodiversity Education Center
Come face to face with Texas natives. We mean the reptile kind. Zooniversity, a traveling wildlife education company, is hosting show and tell with several of their 50 species repertoire. Feast your eyes on a snake, armadillo, and even a badger. It’s bound to be a wild time.
Teen Craft Night
When: February 27
Where: Cozby Library
Have a teenager who can’t seem to put their paintbrush down? Send them over to the library for a free night of crafting. All supplies are provided and every artist is encouraged to tackle the project with their unique creativities.
