Game Day on The Square

When: November 5

Time: Noon-6PM

Where: The Square

Fall is for football in Texas. Grab your tailgating gear for Coppell’s first game day viewing party. Jumbo TVs will be set up in the square, airing two different games. Just like at the stadium, concessions will be available for purchase. Kids can participate in a scavenger hunt, obstacle course, and other games throughout the day. Document the event by hopping in the photo booth for a few school-spirited snapshots.

Cozby Library Grand Opening

When: November 19

Time: 9AM-4PM

Where: Cozby Library

Renovations to the local library are finally complete. Cozby invites all members of the community to come out for the ribbon cutting ceremony and tour of the new digs. It will be a day of fun for all ages with music, balloon artists, face painting, and crafts. Food trucks will be curbside to serve the masses. While you’re there, checkout a book or two.

Festival at the Switchyard

When: November 5

Time: 11AM-10PM

Where: Downton Carrollton

All aboard! In honor of the railroad putting Carrollton on the map, this Texas town spends a day in celebration. The event is anything but small, bringing in more than 27,000 people each year. Free concerts, including headlining act the Barenaked Ladies, draw many to the main stage throughout the day. Feast on turkey legs, fried Oreos, and other fair foods from numerous vendors lining the downtown streets. We recommend playing a game of giant Jenga and catching the kids’ magic show.

Thanksgiving Art and Movie

When: November 22

Time: 2-3PM

Where: Carrollton Public Library at Hebron & Josey

Make paper turkeys with your little ones just before Thanksgiving. No need to buy dining room decorations with these colorful crafts. Get your child excited for the holiday, and who knows, it may become a tradition.
