Newk’s Eatery. You Don’t Know What You’re Missing!

That’s why we sent our very own, Heidi Johnson to get the scoop:

Let me start off by saying, O M G!!! As soon as you walk in the door you can feel the vibe of great tasting food. I stared at the large menu and began to ponder endlessly, “Can I order it all?” I asked myself. The Spicy Shrimp Pizza sounds ridiculously delicious, but wait, the Newk’s Favorite Salad sounds so refreshing and crisp. Then, at the very bottom of the menu–Behold! The treasure I had been seeking. Wait for it… MAC & CHEESE. But not just any kind of Mac and Cheese, it was FIVE CHEESE MAC AND CHEESE. Yup, you heard me right, Asiago, Vermont white cheddar, imported Parmesan, Ammerlander Swiss cheese and don’t forget the yellow cheddar cheese sprinkled on top. If you don’t know me or can’t pick up on the excitement in my words, I am basically known as a cheese aficionado. You say cheese, and I say where?

I finally settled on going with the most reasonable choice of course… A Half sandwich and Five Cheese Mac & Cheese. Selecting the perfect pairing was a little difficult as well, until I saw The Italian. Then I knew it was a match made in heaven. Within about 5 minutes a wonderful lady brought me my carefully selected master piece. As you can tell from the pictures, it was definitely a decision I know my parents would be proud of. (Pat yourself on the back now) The Mac & Cheese was perfectly baked to a nice crisp golden brown. Yum! I couldn’t wait to take the first bite, and let’s just say I was not disappointed. Then, I cautiously examined the other half of my plate–The Italian. The sandwich was layered with rich Genoa salami, imported hot capicola, Campioni pepperoni and mortadella with pistachios. Of course, it had a wonderful slice of provolone cheese melted to perfection. Hands down one of the best sandwiches I have ever tasted. Not too heavy even though it had 4 different kinds of meats. The lettuce, yellow onion, hot cherry peppers (MUST HAVE), spicy creole mustard, mayo and made from scratch Italian sauce is just the right additive to make it a real hearty sandwich. The flavors get released with every bite. I can confidently say it will be a weekly guilty pleasure for me.

It would be a huge mistake not to make the short trip over to try out this ridiculously great tasting establishment.
